Robert C. Ramsay, M.D. 

Dr. Ramsay was awarded his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Manitoba. He completed a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota and a fellowship in Diseases and Surgery of the Retina and Vitreous at Doctor's Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a full-time faculty member at the University of Minnesota Department of Ophthalmology from 1974 to 1988, when he founded VitreoRetinal Surgery. He is currently a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota.

 

Herbert L. Cantrill, M.D.

A graduate of Yale University, Dr. Cantrill received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Harvard Medical School. He completed both his residency in Ophthalmology and a fellowship in Diseases and Surgery of the Retina and Vitreous at Washington University in St. Louis. He was a full-time faculty member at the University of Minnesota Department of Ophthalmology from 1978 to 1988, when he joined VitreoRetinal Surgery. He is currently a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota.

 

Steven R. Bennett, M.D.

Dr. Bennett was awarded his Doctor of Medicine degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville. Following his internship at the Hennepin County Medical Center, he completed a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Iowa, and a fellowship in Diseases and Surgery of the Retina and Vitreous at the Eye Institute of the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He joined VitreoRetinal Surgery in 1990 and is an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota.


Jill B. Johnson, M.D. 

Dr. Johnson received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Michigan State University. She completed her internship and a residency in Ophthalmology at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago. After a fellowship in Medical Retina at Northwestern University, she was in private practice and served as a Retinal Consultant to the Ophthalmology Department at the Cook County Hospital. Dr. Johnson joined VitreoRetinal Surgery in 1992. She is currently Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota.

 

David F. Williams, M.D. 

Dr. Williams received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Ohio and completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the Dartmouth Medical School. A residency in Ophthalmology and fellowships in Retina Research and in Diseases and Surgery of the Retina and Vitreous were at the Eye Institute of the Medical College of Wisconsin. From 1990 to 1995 he was Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Washington University. Dr. Williams joined VitreoRetinal Surgery in 1995 and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota.

 

Edwin H. Ryan, M.D.

Dr. Ryan was awarded his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota.  He completed a residency in Ophthalmology at Northwestern University and a fellowship in Diseases and Surgery of the Retina and Vitreous at Washington University in St. Louis.  Dr. Ryan directed the Retina Service at the University of Minnesota Department of Ophthalmology from 1989 to 1992, and is currently an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology.  Dr. Ryan joined VitreoRetinal Surgery in 1996.

 

Sundeep Dev, M.D. 

Dr. Dev was awarded his Doctor of Medicine degree from Boston University and finished an internship in Internal Medicine at Harvard's Beth Israel Hospital. He completed a residency in Ophthalmology at the Duke University Eye Center, and a fellowship in VitreoRetinal Surgery at the Eye Institute of the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he was awarded the Heed and the American Ophthalmological Society/Knapp fellowships. Dr. Dev is a recipient of the Ronald G. Michaels Award in VitreoRetinal Surgery. He is Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Dev joined VitreoRetinal Surgery in 1999.

 

Robert A. Mittra, M.D. 

Dr. Mittra graduated summa cum laude from the University of Michigan and received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. His residency was in Ophthalmology at the Duke University Eye Center, where he received the Edward K. Isbey award for excellence in clinical care, ethics and research. He then completed a Clinical Vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at the Eye Institute of the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. He is Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Mittra joined VitreoRetinal Surgery in 2000, and is an active member of the Macula Society, Retina Society and the American Society of Retina Specialists.

 
 
 

Polly A. Quiram, M.D., PhD

 

A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Dr. Quiram received both a PhD in Molecular Neuroscience and her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the University of California-Los Angeles and her Vitreoretinal Fellowship at Associated Retinal Consultants at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI.  Dr. Quiram joined VitreoRetinal Surgery in 2007, and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
